4/17/2017 0 Comments How i got hereWhen people ask me what I do for a living, I often get an interesting response. I tell them I am a veterinarian and focus specifically on Animal Chiropractic and Acupuncture. The eyebrows will raise, and often the person is speechless for a few seconds. "I didn't realize they had that for animals."
So how do you enter into this fascinating type of medicine? Well, chiropractic came naturally to me. My mother had taken us as children, so for me, it was just normal. I watched my baby brother have seizures, which stopped with chiropractic care. So for me, it just worked. I have always, always, wanted to be a veterinarian. I was so excited when I was accepted to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. I studied, and learned, and was excited to bring my new skills into the real world. As I practiced veterinary medicine, I became frustrated with a lot of things I couldn't fix. I have always been more intrigued by more natural medicine, and cautious with medications. I was very concerned about side effects, and although I could help animals using medication, I would wonder about the sustainability of my treatment plan. Lucky for me, I had joined a practice that already incorporated Animal Chiropractic. I was already convinced chiropractic was amazing, but could see it daily in the animals we treated. It wasn't long before I was enrolled into Options For Animals Chiropractic School. Learning this was so exciting, and once I was having great results with chiropractic, I wanted more. I enrolled at The Chi Institute to learn Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. So here I am, with a passion for animals, and knowledge to heal them by working through them. I am still adding more skills and knowledge all of the time, and love this type of medicine.
